Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was born into a multi-ethnic household. Her parents are Malaysian as well as from Sri Lanka. Her father Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. She is the younger of two siblings and has one older brother. Due to unrest in the country, her parents were forced to relocate to Bahrain in the early 1980s. The scholarship she received allowed her to attend in the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her schooling in Bahrain. In order to further her love of the world of languages, cultures and languages, she joined the Berlitz school of languages, in which she could study Spanish as well as improve French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was title in the month of March, 2006; she also took part in Miss Universe 2006 As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone started her career in the world of television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on Sri Lankan Business. Padukone is the child of and badminton champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew as a child in Bangalore however, she was born in Copenhagen. When she was a teen, Padukone was a participant in numerous championships for national badminton. However, she resigned from playing when she made the decision to become a fashion model. Padukone is from Mangalorean background, and her mother tongue is Konkani. Padukone Village is situated within Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District of Karnataka located in India. Prakash Padukone is her father and was a badminton player with international recognition. Her mother is a travel agent.
